On October 30 and 31, the Kick-off meeting of the “Climate Justice Living Lab” project took place at the Department of Law of the University of Palermo, which serves as the coordinating entity. The project is funded under the Erasmus Plus Program of the European Union (Scientific Coordinator: Prof. Nicola Gullo; Research Team: Prof. Maurizio Cellura and Dr. Giulia Torta).
The meeting, which was of an organizational nature, was attended by representatives of the partner institutions supporting the initiative: Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona (Spain); Mariupol University (Ukraine); the IT consultancy firm p-consulting in Patras (Greece); and the environmental association A Sud Ecologia e Cooperazione Onlus, based in Rome.
The University of Palermo, which will benefit from the scientific support of the Center for Sustainability and Ecological Transition of the university, will work with its partners to launch an intensive training program on climate change, a fair and shared ecological transition, and the full implementation of international environmental obligations by states.
The project’s objectives also include the creation of a digital platform for data collection and the exchange of environmental protection experiences, as well as the drafting of a theoretical and practical handbook on climate law.
