The scale and urgency of the climate emergency demand mobilization across all sectors of society to swiftly implement a radical and just transition to address anthropogenic climate impacts. In this context, law serves as a crucial tool for structural change at all levels, and quality university education plays a key role in ensuring that current and future legal professionals, journalists, and climate activists possess specific skills, enabling them to be conscious advocates for climate justice in their respective fields. The CJLL project aims to develop and disseminate innovative educational contents and learning opportunities in the fields of climate law and climate justice.
CJLL
Climate Justice Living Lab aims to enhance the role of Higher education in tackling the societal challenges brought by climate change, building the capacity of law professionals, students, climate activists and communication professionals as actor of change in the field of climate action.
- CJLL enhances the appropriateness and availability of learning outcomes and learning opportunities in the field of climate law and climate justice
- It aims to build in-depth knowledge and understanding of climate justice and climate law current issues.
- CJLL also fosters cross-sectoral synergies and cooperation among Universities, climate justice organisations, academics, law professionals and communication professionals in sharing transdisciplinary knowledge and good practices in the field.

Curriculum
and courses
The CJLL curriculum offers an opportunity to increase practice-oriented knowledge in the field of climate law and climate litigations, answering the priority to develop green sectoral skills strategies and methodologies and future-oriented curricula that better meet the needs of individuals. Its modularity guarantees its use for various forms of training, including its implementation in partners’ universities courses and in the project’s Summer and winter schools.

The CJLL handbook aims at becoming a reference textbook for scholars, law professionals and climate justice promoters interested in the topic, providing them with a tool useful for teaching, learning and legal strategies assessment. It will combine academic and strategic insights, key to better understanding the potential of climate law and climate litigation to tackle climate change challenges.
