CJLL

The CJLL project’s experimental courses on climate justice have officially started at the universities of Palermo, Tarragona, and Mariupol.

In these critical times of climate emergency, the law plays a key role in shaping effective policies, both through governance and through growing use of the courts. With this in mind, new climate law courses, which are central to the CJLL project, began this academic year at partner universities.

The Climate Justice Living Lab project, funded by the European Commission, aims to strengthen higher education’s role in addressing the social challenges caused by climate change. The new 48-hour training modules will be piloted over two academic years at the University of Palermo (Unipa), the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona, Spain, and the Mariupol State University (MSU) in Ukraine. Among the partners is also A Sud, a leading Italian ecological organisation focused on climate litigation.

Climate law is an emerging field offering new opportunities for legal experts, engineers, and environmental professionals. Understanding these issues is essential for fully grasping today’s challenges.
